The Story

A catcher’s catcher

Juan Garcia has built his career behind the plate — the most demanding position in baseball. He spent six years as a catcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization (#96) and competed on the international stage at a Baseball World Cup in China. Today he continues his professional playing career in the independent Frontier League.

What sets Juan apart isn’t just how he plays the position — it’s how he teaches it. He breaks down complex mechanics into simple, repeatable movements that young catchers can actually feel and repeat, then reinforces them with game-situation reps that build real confidence.

Alongside his playing career, Juan channels that experience into developing the next generation of catchers at Catcher Station and as head coach of the Rawlings Tigers U11 competitive team.

Coaching Philosophy

Fundamentals first. Confidence always.

Great catching is built on fundamentals — but it sticks when kids believe in themselves. Every Catcher Station session pairs pro-level technique with the kind of positive, patient coaching that keeps young players wanting to come back.

Receiving & framing — quiet hands that steal strikes.

Blocking & recovery — keep every ball in front.

Footwork & pop time — a faster, more accurate throw.

Game IQ — calling the game and leading the field.
